Hauwai Apartments

Located on the city fringe, Hauwai is a six-storey, mixed-use development located in the Wellington suburb of Mt Cook. The development consists of 94 one and two-bedroom apartments, each with private semi-enclosed balconies or terraces that look out over the city’s southern suburbs and surrounding green hills.

Cladding includes a combination of an insulated panel façade, profiled metal cladding on the upper floors, and brick cladding on the ground floor, providing warmth and tactility that reference surrounding neighborhoods.

A number of pedestrian access points are positioned on all three street-facing boundaries together with retail tenancies to activate street frontages. Pockets of planting strategically located against building edges enliven the streetscape.
