An existing outdated complex was demolished and replaced with a new building designed within the bulk and location of the existing envelope, to provide 27 one-bed apartments for superannuitants.
The four-storey T-shaped block is located on a busy suburban corner in Miramar and opens to north facing landscaped gardens.
One-bed units are organised into living, sleeping, and service zones. Bedrooms are orientated to the street with kitchen, service, and entry looking to north facing breezeways. Sliding screens between bedroom and living areas allow for flexible spatial integration.
The new building fits well into the local neighbourhood providing residents with a safe, secure, modern, adaptable, and accessible living environment in which to improve the quality of their lives.
