Perched atop one of the few vantage points on the outskirts of Feilding, Elliott House masterly frames expansive views while its stilted construction exploits all parts of a challenging site.
Half of the 200m2 house is cantilevered over a steeply sloping site, on a suspended concrete floor supported by a steel-tubed diagonal exposed structure. The home is an engineering and architectural celebration.
Garaging and storage is located on the lower level with the entry foyer; the main living, master bedroom and ensuite are located above. A short flight of stairs leads from the living hub to a spare bedroom/office, study/TV room, bathroom and laundry.
The building exterior reflects the surrounding 1970s residential language and the owner’s delight in art.
