With a passion for architecture starting from a young age, Matt first studied in Auckland and is currently based in DGSE's Napier Studio as an Associate, leading numerous project teams within the wider office. Combining an exceptional design portfolio and over 12 years' experience in a wide range of project types, Matt brings a wealth of knowledge to the DGSE team.

Passion, hard work and enthusiasm are all core components of Matt's approach to the design process. Exploring ideas and allowing design to evolve through continuous evaluation creates innovative design responses that are contemporary and evoke a strong sense of place for both site and context.

Matt is currently working on a number of Residential, Residential Urban Design Projects and Community Buildings in the Hawke's Bay region and throughout New Zealand. As Project Designer and Lead, he is working on a comprehensive residential development on 480ha of land, located on the East Coast/Te Tairāwhiti in the North Island. The project comprises of a large main residence, several small residences, and upgrades to the on-site infrastructure network including solar generation. Nearing completion, it is an iconic development that everyone involved in the project is extremely pleased with.
