James joined DGSE after graduating with his Masters in 2021. These formative studies opened up opportunities for external work alongside future tech innovators in the Architectural Engineering and Construction Industry (AEC) through which James gained valuable experience and an appreciation of dynamic design processes, external workflows, and collaborative fabrication.

Collaborative interrogation of design and the practical construction is a cornerstone of James’ personality, fundamentally fuelling his love for the building environment. That has deepened his desire to create meaningful architecture.

James’ work at DGSE spans a range of building scales and stages; he provides experience and assistance from pre-conceptual design through to detailed design documentation and design visualisation. His extensive experience is evident on a range of projects in the Commercial, Multi-Unit Housing development, and High-end Residential sectors.

James’ skill, enthusiasm, and adaptable nature make him an impact player within the DGSE design team. His dynamic design process and passion for both conceptual and practical architectural forms is being applied on a range of built forms across Aotearoa.
